So its been a little while since my last post on here – 8 months to be exact. It’s been a rather busy 8 months, although only one week has been spent travelling – a short break in Sicily – blog posts to come soon hopefully. The rest of the time I have spent renovating the house we bought – see blog here, working in my ‘day job’ Monday – Friday, and me and Ben also started a business – a ‘DIY’ wedding venue which has been taking up every weekend throughout the summer.
Now that its winter and I have more time on my hands I’ve started to think about travel again and what I miss about it.
1. Being a free spirit – going where ever, whenever.
There is so much freedom that comes with travel and you don’t actually appreciate it until you stop. Choose when you get up (no 6am starts unless you were dumb enough to book an early bus journey), choose when you have lunch, where you travel to next.
2. Stress free
‘Work’ is stressful at times and I do find it hard to switch off and get some true ‘chill time’. Whilst there may be stressful moments on the road, its not exactly like ‘work’ day in, day out.
3. ‘Me time’
Ever feel like you just need a little time to yourself. I do. I often feel like my mind is full of one big to do list that never ends whereas when I was travelling it just felt clear.
