Even when I’m backpacking I still like to take some essential makeup and beauty items with me. I’ve listed below what I tend to take with me and my favourite products.
1. Tinted moisturiser / foundation
I love Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua as it has great coverage and evens out my skin tone, yet it still feels very light and not cakey. It also contains SPF 15 which is great if your heading off to a hot country.
2. Waterproof mascara
I also like to take a good waterproof mascara with me like Benefit Bad Gal Mascara as I like to define my eyes and I find this mascara lasts all day even in very humid countries where other mascaras may smudge!
I love Bobbi Brown creamy concealer which can be used on its own if you like a dewy look or have dry skin, or if you have oily skin then you can try the concealer kit which has both the creamy concealer and also a powder to set it.
I also like to take a good bronzer with me to give me some colour or to enhance my tan. I like the illuminating bronzer from Bobbi Brown.
1. Face Wipes
I find face wipes the most travel friendly way to remove makeup and they are easily found in most countries.
I have dry skin so I find moisturiser is essential and its a great base for makeup. You can also buy moisturiser that has SPF built in, like the Nivea Q10.
3. Face wash
I normally buy a travel sized miniature face wash as I normally find I can easily repurchase on the road if I run out.
4. Face scrub / exfoliator
My favourite exfoliator is the Clinique Face Scrub. I don’t normally take the whole tube away with me as a little goes along way. I simply spoon out a little bit into a smaller container.
5. Blemish treatment
I normally buy the Witch Stick which comes in a handy ‘stick’ so its great for travelling.
You should take a range of SPF with you. I tend to buy a small SPF 50 and a large SPF 30. I apply SPF 30 all over my body and then apply SPF 50 on more exposed area like my ears, nose and shoulders. The Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour stick is great for touch ups on the go.
